Siete Meses

Luis said to me last night, "She's growing up so fast!"  How many times have I heard people telling me that my baby would grow up fast?  It doesn't seem like it from day to day, but looking back, it DOES seem fast.  Just barely, she was a tiny little thing, and now, seven months later, she's a dramatic, pre-toddler.

Raquel at 7 months
  • She's a whopping 27 inches and 14 lbs.
  • She can sit up by herself for up to 15 seconds.
  • She loves all food we've given her to try, but her favorite is carrots.
  • She is learning "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" and loves the part where "...down came the rain..."
  • She loves anything that has to do with her hands, so we like to play pat-a-cake or sing "Open Close Them" or "My Hands."
  • She can move herself around in a circle, but not forwards or backwards yet.
  • Her favorite toys seem to be the ones daddy finds, such as spoons or tupperware lids.
  • She is learning the power of her voice and has channeled her "inner Amber" (aka she screeches a lot).
  • She really loves the pool.
  • She has her two bottom teeth and seems to be on the verge of obtaining tooth #3.
  • She doesn't seem to like church much, other than the compliments she gets from the ward members.
  • She's now officially darker than her mother.

She puts her feet on EVERYTHING.

She's also very tricky.

All I want for August is...

I already posted about our weekend visitors and how Raquel was a bit cranky all weekend, and now we know why...she earned her first tooth!!!  Of course you can't see it here, but I had to attempt anyways.  It's her bottom right front tooth.  Then, 6 days later, her bottom left tooth appeared.

Now with teeth, everything's changed.

What Do You Do with a Megan and a Blake?

More visitors.  This time it was Megan and Blake.  So what did we do?  We did what we do with all those Utahns...we headed to the beach!

Megan and Blake KILLED IT on the boogie board.

Raquel fell asleep to the lulling sounds of the ocean.  See her grabbing her ears?  She does that now when she's tired.

Throughout the weekend, Megan & Blake tried convincing Raquel to like them.  Raquel loved flirting with Blake, but Megan kept thinking baby woman wasn't an "aunt Meggie fan."  After hours in the car singing, "The Wheels on the Bus," "Open Close Them," and "Old MacDonald," Raquel seemed to warm up to her.

On Sunday, we visited the Redlands temple, which meant Raquel got her first temple trip.

On Monday, we spent the day at Sea World!

It was a quick weekend visit, but I'm glad Raquel got to meet another "favorite" aunt and uncle before they moved to Texas.
